Cookie Policy

Effective Date: September 8, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to the official website of Smile Preschool and Nursery (“we,” “us,” or “our”), accessible via www.smilepreschoolandnursery.com. This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website to ensure a secure, functional, and user-friendly experience for our parents, guardians, and visitors.

By continuing to browse our website, you agree to our use of cookies as described in this policy. If you do not agree, you can adjust your browser settings or choose not to use our site.

2. What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files containing modest amounts of data that are downloaded to your computer, tablet, or mobile device when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognize your device, store choices you have made (such as language preferences or login credentials), and gather aggregate analytical metrics to improve your browsing experience.

Cookies can be “persistent” (remaining on your device until they expire or are manually deleted) or “session” cookies (which are automatically erased as soon as you close your web browser).

3. How We Use Cookies

At Smile Preschool and Nursery, we respect the privacy of families and child care communities. We strictly minimize our tracking ecosystem. We use cookies exclusively to optimize platform mechanics, safeguard sensitive interfaces, and analyze generic site performance. We never trade, sell, or rent your tracking data.

Categories of Cookies We Deploy:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: Essential for core website operation. These include cookies that enable parents to log securely into our administrative dashboard, access tuition payment portals, or view dynamic updates regarding nursery schedules.
  • Performance and Analytics Cookies: These help us monitor aggregated traffic flow, verify which pages are visited most frequently, and detect broken URLs. For instance, we use tools like Google Analytics to securely analyze anonymous visitor distributions so we can improve navigation.
  • Functionality Cookies: Used to remember configuration settings you input. For example, if you change text sizes, fill out preliminary enrollment inquiry forms, or select localized display options, these cookies ensure you do not have to re-enter details upon return.

4. Third-Party Integrations

To provide a streamlined digital ecosystem, our website integrates third-party widgets and management platforms (such as specialized child care management systems, secure parent portal applications, or tuition processing processors). These external services may set cookies on your browser to execute their processes safely. We encourage you to review the specific privacy and cookie frameworks of those integrated provider portals directly when interacting with them.

5. Managing and Disabling Cookies

Most internet web browsers are set to automatically accept cookies by default. However, you maintain absolute control over your digital storage and can restrict, block, or delete cookies at any time via your browser controls.

Please note that if you choose to turn off all cookies completely, certain secure features of the Smile Preschool and Nursery site—such as authenticated parent portals—may no longer function smoothly.

To customize cookie configurations on your standard devices, navigate to your respective browser settings:

  • Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies
  • Apple Safari: Settings > Safari > Privacy & Security > Block All Cookies
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Enhanced Tracking Protection

6. Updates to This Policy

We may systematically update this Cookie Policy from time to time to align with legal shifts, technological advancements, or updates to our childcare operational frameworks. When modifications occur, we will adjust the revised “Effective Date” at the top of this document. We suggest checking this page periodically to remain informed.

I’ve had such a good experience with Smile nursery, I’d recommend anyone looking at daycares in the area to consider Smile. My child started at Smile at 6mo and they were incredibly accommodating with his specific schedule and needs. They helped us with the transition to solid foods and their updates and feedback every day were really helpful. Smile sends pictures and real time updates throughout the day, and it’s nice to know what my child is up to all day. My child has been growing and learning so fast and I’m so happy and impressed with the environment at Smile.

Ms Debie and Rashida are especially sweet and caring. My child is happy to see them in the morning and he’s happy every day when I pick him up. They are so supportive to our family and it’s been a real pleasure working with them!

I recently discovered that SMILE Preschool (@smilepreschooljc) posted a photo of my daughter in a video on their Instagram without my consent. When enrolling, I explicitly refused permission for her image to be used in any online ads or marketing. This is a serious violation of my trust. Had I known about this sooner, I would have withdrawn her from the school immediately. This disregard for parents’ wishes is unacceptable and can put children’s privacy and safety at risk.

Original review: It would be ZERO stars if that was an option. Sherry Singh often mentions her reputation around Jersey City and talks about her family, but in my experience, it feels disingenuous. The moment money is no longer involved, her true priorities become clear, and the level of care and professionalism drops dramatically.

I’ve had a highly disappointing experience with SMILE Preschool. In 2023, I received an unsigned, homemade-looking childcare statement that couldn’t be verified for my taxes. After multiple follow-ups, I was told to wait until their accountant, Calvin Reid, returned in October 2024. When I reached out again, I was ignored, and during a call, the staff member acted like she didn’t know who the accountant was, then abruptly hung up on me. After that, I called the owner, Sherry Singh, who had previously given me her number. She responded aggressively and unprofessionally, speaking over me and then hanging up on me as well.

Additionally, when my family had to relocate to Texas, I informed the school as early as possible that my daughter’s last day would be October 11. Instead of understanding our situation (I had to leave my job and couldn’t afford childcare for time we wouldn’t even be in the state), they coldly insisted we pay through November 12, 2024, per their policy, with no consideration of our hardship. This lack of empathy made me pull my daughter out weeks earlier than planned, even though we had already paid.

Overall, the unprofessionalism and lack of care for families is unacceptable, and I cannot recommend this daycare to anyone.
